Floor Coatings

Decorative and Protective floor coatings

Our decorative and protective floor coatings are used across North America in all climates. From the sweltering 110+ degrees in Phoenix, Arizona to sub-zero temperatures in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and even high humidity in Tampa, Florida. The same polyaspartic and epoxy coatings work in all these climates under different application guidelines, but the point is that our coatings can be applied almost anywhere and last! We specialize in custom coatings and our custom formulations set us above the rest in both performance and price.

Applications: Concrete coatings, concrete floor coatings, garage floor coatings, office floor coatings, restaurant floor coatings, warehouse floor coatings, airplane hangar floor coatings, and more.

Garage Floor Coatings

How do you choose between a Polyaspartic or Epoxy garage floor coating?

That's a great question! And to answer this you'll have to ask yourself a few more questions. All coatings have their pros and cons, click on a question below to help you determine which coating is right for you.

  • What's the project timeline?

Contractors, Installers, and DIYers should all be asking themselves this question before starting any project. Generally depending on the size of the project and the prep work involved polyaspartic garage floor coatings require 1-2 days from start to finish, and epoxy requires 3-4 days. Depending on the preparation involved the prep time can take a few hours for grinding, up to 24-48 hours for acid washing to allow the water to evaporate. And then there's the difference in cure times. Our polyaspartic can be re-coated on in about 1-2 hours, whereas you'll want to wait between 3-8 hours for epoxy. The variance in time depends on temperature and humidity as this can affect cure time.

For project times of less than 2 days you should go with Polyaspartic.

For projects where you have more flexibility you can go with Epoxy.

  • What are the physical differences between polyaspartic and epoxy?

From the physical property aspect both polyaspartic and epoxy make for excellent garage floor coatings because they are heavily crosslinked. They are both very durable and have varying degrees of chemical resistance. Polyaspartic is generally up to 4 times more abrasion resistant than epoxy, some interpret this to mean that polyaspartic is 4x more durable or stronger than epoxy. And the other characteristic that really sets the two apart is that a polyaspartic garage floor coating can be a true 1-day floor coating, epoxy cures at a much slower rate that even the fastest crews are only breaking in to the 2-day floor coating time frame and realistically many are between 3-4 days.

  • Which is cheaper?

Generally, Epoxy is going to be cheaper than polyaspartic as far as raw material costs are concerned. However, when you facter in the time savings with polyaspartic you're very close to the same value proposition that both coatings offer the consumer. Both coatings are excellent for protection, decoration, slip-resistance (with additive), and more.
